HAPPY METROLOGY DAY!
Do you remember the title of Jules Verne's novel "Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea"? In our country, it was published under another name – "Eighty thousand kilometers under water." Different peoples had their own measurements, so they had to convert leagues into miles, kilometers or miles, and pounds into kilograms. Even in one country there could be a complete discrepancy, the proverb "measure by your yard" has been preserved in the Russian language! In a world where the technological revolution was in full swing, this could not continue. And on May 20, 1875, in Paris, 17 states, including Russia, signed the Metric Convention.
Now May 20 is a professional holiday for all metrologists. Six specialists are receiving congratulations at Promsintez today. These are engineers of the Metrology Department Anastasia Aleksandrovna Belousova, Olga Sergeevna Zubanova, Tatiana Anatolyevna Kornilova and Evgenia Vladimirovna Chesnokova, Chief of the department Natalia Aleksandrovna Pushchaeva, as well as Chief Metrologist, Chief of Automation and Metrological Support, Chief of Workshop No. 7 Aleksey Vasilyevich Dubrovin.
Happy holidays, colleagues! We wish you maximum accuracy and unity in all dimensions!
